History of Custom Bandag, Inc.
Custom Bandag first opened its doors on September 18, 1975 in Linden, New Jersey. A small facility, it produced approximately 15 retreads per day. There was a single truck with a single dream - to be the best! It was not long before word got out of the quality and service being offered by Custom Bandag. As our customers grew so did our facilities. Today we have 11 locations to service our customer's tire needs. Today, between our state of the art facilities in Elizabeth and Keyport, New Jersey, we produce the highest quality retreads. Custom Bandag utilizes the Bandag Retreading Process, products and equipment to insure maximum retreading results for its customers. We specialize in Application Specific Retreading and a total out sourcing of our customer's tire needs. In order to further our efforts, we offer a full line of new tires, from passenger to specialty tires. We carry Goodyear, Bridgestone/Firestone, Michelin, Continental/General, Yokohama and other tire vendors.
Custom Bandag has a basic operating philosophy, "Provide your customers with a great product at a reasonable price with incomparable service and it will set the foundation for customer satisfaction." This way of thinking has been the corner stone of Custom Bandag's success. Our people are certified Craftsmen and Advanced Master Craftsmen. They are trained in the Bandag Retreading process, with yearly reviews supervised by the Bandag organization.
